Advanced Clean Fleets Truck Regulation Implementation Group Meeting: On May 20 via remote access, CARB will host a public meeting of the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) Truck Regulation Implementation Group (TRIG) to discuss outreach. CARB adopted the ACF Regulation on April 28, 2023, and it became effective on October 1, 2023. A recording of recent TRIG meetings is available on the ACF Meetings and Events webpage. The public will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions.
Advanced Clean Transportation Expo: On May 20-23 in Las Vegas, CARB will host an informational booth at Advanced Clean Transportation Expo (ACT Expo), North America’s largest advanced commercial vehicle technology event. CARB staff will be available to provide information on heavy-duty regulations and incentive programs. This annual event offers participants access to the latest technologies, services, and vehicles that are driving the transition to lower- and zero-emission transportation solutions.
Public Workshop for the Draft 2024 Annual Monitoring Network Plan: On May 21 via remote access, CARB will host a public workshop to provide an overview of the CARB 2024 Annual Monitoring Network Plan (ANP). This plan provides detailed information about criteria pollutant monitoring sites and instruments operating in the regulatory monitoring network of 25 air districts within the CARB Primary Quality Assurance Organization. Federal regulations require state and local agencies that conduct ambient air monitoring for regulatory purposes to submit an ANP to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency annually, after a 30-day comment period.
Evening Community Meeting on Clean Transportation Projects for a Cleaner California: On May 21 via remote access, CARB will host an evening community meeting to discuss plans for funding clean transportation projects, updates on incentive project implementation, and other CARB initiatives. This meeting will provide a forum for community members to express their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions.
Non-Truck Transport Refrigeration Unit Regulation Concepts Development Workshop: On May 22 via remote access, CARB will host a second public workshop to discuss potential regulation concepts to transition non-truck transport refrigeration units (TRU) to zero-emission technology. Staff will present updates to the potential regulatory concepts made since the last workshop, which was held in November 2023, as well as discuss estimates on cost input, zero-emission technology, and non-truck TRU operations route characteristics. TRU owners, operators, and original equipment manufacturers will be asked to provide input.
Public Landscaper Workgroup Meeting on Small Off-Road Engines: On May 22 via remote access, CARB will host a public workgroup meeting for professional landscapers in order to discuss recent updates to the small off-road engine regulations that will affect new engines used in landscape equipment. Staff will also discuss incentives available to assist landscapers with the purchase of electric equipment. Professional landscapers are encouraged to participate.
Board Meeting: On May 23-24 in Sacramento and via webcast, the Board will hear the following agenda items: 1) the proposed 2024 State Implementation Plan submittal of five previously adopted CARB regulations; 2) proposed amendments to the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation and the Zero-Emission Powertrain Certification Test Procedure; and 3) a proposed new member of CARB’s Research Screening Committee.
