Evriholder Products, LLC Settles For $5,000
In March 2024, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Evriholder Products, LLC (Evriholder) of Brea, California reached a settlement for Evriholder’s violation of CARB’s Regulation for Reducing Emissions from Consumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation), as specified in California Code of Regulations, title 17, sections 94507 et seq.
An investigation by CARB staff revealed that Evriholder sold, supplied, and offered for sale in California, nonaerosol general purpose cleaner products that were not in compliance with CARB’s Consumer Products Regulation. Their product Sophisti-Clean Granite Wipes contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that exceeded the standards specified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94509(a). The violation contributed to less than 0.15 tons of excess VOC emissions in the General Purpose Cleaner (nonaerosol) category over a period of two years. Additionally, the Sophisti-Clean Granite Wipes were not in compliance with the California Consumer Products Regulations' product dating requirement under California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512.
Evriholder fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter and is no longer manufacturing or selling the Sophisti-Clean Granite Wipes. The full penalty amount will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
