CHIRP Framework
Contacto
The Board approved the Climate Heat Impact Response Program (CHIRP)framework in November 2021 that providedhigh level guidance on key program elements. The framework offered a broad approach to program implementation, however resource limitations forced CARB to narrow the scope of CHIRP to be implemented through the established Carl Moyer and Community Air Protection programs. The framework also provided guidance on reportingmechanisms for entities that deploy emergency power during proclaimed extreme heat events, as well as established a $500,000 per weighted ton cost-based mitigation amount.
