What does it fund?
Access Clean California is a multi-faceted outreach effort that helps streamline access to California Climate Investments' consumer-facing, equity-focused clean transportation and clean energy incentive programs for low-income and disadvantaged communities. It funds coordination, technical assistance and capacity-building, and outreach efforts across the state through a network of outreach partners, with an emphasis on funding grassroots community-based organizations (CBOs) to conduct outreach in priority populations. It also funds developing resources and services to support outreach partners.
Who is eligible for funds?
Access Clean California provides resources to nonprofits, CBOs, and similar organizations to help families in low-income and disadvantaged communities learn about, apply for, and participate in clean transportation and clean energy incentive programs.
Are there recent policy changes?
None.
How does this program provide benefits to priority populations*?
This program is an outreach effort aimed exclusively at increasing access for priority populations to clean transportation and clean energy incentives programs. The program’s outreach partners are all located in and represent priority communities. In addition, Access Clean California also provides technical assistance and capacity-building grants to CBOs based in and representing priority populations.
*Priority populations include residents of: (1) census tracts identified as disadvantaged by California Environmental Protection Agency per Senate Bill 535; (2) census tracts identified as low-income per Assembly Bill (AB) 1550; or (3) a low-income household per AB 1550.
