As part of the Volkswagen (VW) Environmental Mitigation Trust established by the first Partial Consent Decree in the VW settlement, two Trust Agreements were approved by the Court: one for the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (Trust Agreement for States); and one for federally recognized Indian Tribes (Trust Agreement for Indian Tribes). Wilmington Trust, N.A., was appointed by the Court as the Trustee for the entire national Trust. The Trust Agreements became effective on October 2, 2017.
