SACRAMENTO - "The success of this first joint auction, which sold out of its 2014 and 2017 vintage allowances, shows that states, provinces and regions working together can achieve more in the fight against climate change than working alone,” said Air Resources Board Chairman Mary D. Nichols. "The effective step-by-step coordination between California and Quebec shows that other jurisdictions can also develop joint programs and expand the effort to reduce greenhouse gases around the world."
CARB is the lead agency in California for cleaning up the air and fighting climate change to attain and maintain health-based air quality standards.
