LKQ Pick-Your-Part Auto Wrecking Case Settles for $4,700
In July 2015, Pick-Your-Part Auto Wrecking agreed to pay $4,700.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $3,525.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,175.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Pick-Your-Part Auto Wrecking had failed to: (1) properly report fleet ownership transfer; and (2) failed to report and identify in its annual report the acquisitions of other fleets. ARB documented these violations as related to the In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets Regulation (Off-Road Regulation). To settle the case, Pick-Your-Part Auto Wrecking agreed to the $4,700.00 penalty and to comply with the Off-Road Regulation.
