Kirkland's Inc. Case Settles for $85,000

On July 2, 2014, a Consumer Products case was settled with Kirkland’s Inc. for selling and/or supplying non-compliant catalytic lamp fragrances (Air Fresheners). These products contributed to 5.76 tons excess Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions due to exceeding the 18% by weight VOC limit set under Consumer Products Regulation for Air fresheners: liquid/pump spray specified in Title 17, CCR, section 94509(a). Kirkland’s Inc. paid $85,000 to settle this case.
