Jim Crawford Construction Case Settles for $12,000
In March 2015, Jim Crawford Construction agreed to pay $12,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $9,000.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $3,000.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Jim Crawford Construction failed to bring their fleet in compliance with the applicable diesel particulate matter BACT requirements. ARB documented violations as they related to the Statewide Truck and Bus (STB) regulation. To settle the case, Jim Crawford Construction agreed to the $12,000.00 penalty and to comply with the STB and other ARB programs.
