$2,000 in Fines Paid by Greenway Research Labs

On October 27, 2004, samples of Claypac Play Spray Maximum Volume Hold Shine Hairspray and Total Control & Defense Spray Gel were obtained from a Trade Secret store in San Diego operated by Regis Corporation. The products were manufactured by Greenway Research Labs for Altobella Products, but they did not comply with the 55 percent VOC for hairsprays nor the 6 percent limit for Hair Gels. While Greenway was able to finally provide documentation that they had notified Regis that the products should not be sold in California, Greenway had not filed a date code explanation with the ARB for any of their regulated products. Gateway Research Labs settled the date code violations on September 11, 2006 for a payment of $2,000.
