Graco Inc. Settles for $2,000
In October of 2020, Graco Inc. (Graco) headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota settled its case with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for violations of California Code of Regulations Title 13, Section 2750.
Graco introduced into California commerce Small Off-Road Engines (SORE), for use in California that did not comply with the requirements of the Evaporative Emissions Regulation by not obtaining an Executive Order pursuant to the certification requirements and protocols (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 13, § 2753).
Graco fully cooperated with CARB during the agency’s investigation. The resulting settlement requires the company to pay a $250 per unit penalty resulting in a total penalty of $2,000, to be deposited into the Air Pollution Control Fund. Going forward Graco will obtain an Executive Order before offering for sale, or selling any product in California.
Graco agrees that any SORE sold, supplied, offered for sale, advertised, or manufactured for sale in California, will comply with all applicable standards.
