Generac Power Systems, Inc. Case Settles for $55,100
In March 2016, Generac Power Systems, Inc. (Generac) agreed to pay $55,100.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund for violating air quality regulations. An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed Generac had manufactured for sale generators that were not properly labeled as according to California Code of Regulations, Title 13, section 2404(c)(4)(H) even though the units in question did comply with emission requirements of section 2404. To settle the case, Generac agreed to the $55,100.00 penalty and to comply with the 13 California Code of Regulations section 2400(a)(2). This settlement takes into consideration that Generac removed the units in question and was proactive and cooperative throughout the enforcement process.
