GWP values in reporting template

GHG Protocol expects companies to use the most up-to-date GWP values in line with the latest climate science. In CARB's reporting template, it is specified that AR4 is expected, however that contradicts GHG Protocol advice. Will CARB's template be updated to be in line with GHG Protocol & the latest climate science? It would make most sense to use the same guidelines as GHG Protocol on AR versioning.
