Enterprise Holdings, Inc. Case Settles for $560,000

In October 2014, Enterprise Holdings, Inc. agreed to pay $560,000 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for violations of Health and Safety Code § 43151 et. seq.

An Enforcement Division employee rented a vehicle at Burbank Airport that had an out-of-state license plate and less than 7,500 miles on the odometer. An inspection confirmed the vehicle was labeled as US EPA certified and not California certified. Enterprise cooperated and took prompt action by issuing an internal notification prohibiting its rental locations from renting vehicles with a US EPA only emissions label within California.
