Dolphin Transport, Incorporated Case Settles for $16,050.00
In September 2013 Dolphin Transport, Incorporated agreed to pay $16,050.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $12,037.50 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $4,012.50 will go to Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Dolphin Transport, Inc. failed to comply with the Drayage Truck Regulation by neglecting to install legally required emission-reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. Dolphin Transport also failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Drayage Truck Regulation (DTR) and Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Dolphin Transport, Inc. agreed to the $16,050.00 penalty and to comply with the DTR Program, PSIP Program, and other ARB programs.
