Dayjo Transport, Inc. Case Settles for $44,625

DAYJO TRANSPORT, INC. will pay $44,625 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $33,475 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $11,150 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program. This settlement was reached in November, 2015. 

An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that DAYJO TRANSPORT, INC. failed to bring nine of their diesel trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, DAYJO TRANSPORT, INC. agreed to the $44,925 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, and other ARB programs.
