Dash Transport, Inc. Case Settles for $19,250.00
In September 2013, Dash Transport, Inc. paid $19,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $14,440.00 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $4,810.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Dash Transport failed to bring their fleet into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards for the Truck and Bus Regulation and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Dash Transport agreed to the $19,250.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and Truck and Bus Regulation programs.
