Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd. Case Settles for $7,500

Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd.paid $7,500.00 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board (ARB), for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on October 13, 2017. An investigation by ARB showed that the Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd. vessel Maersk Enping failed to operate on compliant fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters in 2017. Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd. took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion.To settle the case, Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd. agreed to the $7,500.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
