C.J.J. Farming, Inc. Case Settles for $49,500
C.J.J. Farming, Inc. will pay $74,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $49,500.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $25,000.00 will go to the South Coast Air Quality Management District to fund the Installation of Air Filtration Systems in Schools Supplemental Environmental Project. This settlement was reached in September, 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that C.J.J. Farming, Inc. failed to bring 22 of their on-road diesel fueled vehicles into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation and the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, C.J.J. Farming, Inc. agreed to the $74,500.00 penalty and to comply with TB, PSIP and, other ARB programs.
