Carpinteria Motor Transport, Inc. Case Settles for $11,500
In April 2010, Carpinteria Motor Transport, Inc. agreed to pay $11,500 in penalties, $8, 625 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $2,875 to Peralta Community College District, for violating air quality regulations. An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Carpinteria Motor Transport, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Carpinteria Motor Transport, Inc. agreed to the $11,500 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs.
