California Transport Refrigeration, Inc. Case Settles for $1,500
California Transport Refrigeration, Inc. will pay $1,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $1,125.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $375.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in July 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that California Transport Refrigeration, Inc. failed to ensure that a diesel emission control strategy was installed on an engine approved in the applicable executive order. To settle the case, California Transport Refrigeration, Inc. agreed to the $1,500.00 penalty and to comply with VDECS and other ARB programs.
