Please see below for upcoming public events for the week of August 16, 2021.
Public Work Group Meeting on Zero-Emission Forklift Rulemaking: On August 17 via remote access, CARB staff will hold a public work group meeting to discuss and get stakeholder input on a potential regulatory measure to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission forklifts. While zero-emission forklifts have recently penetrated the market and have garnered customer appreciation, significant opportunities for deployment progress remains. The potential measure will complement existing programs to achieve oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and greenhouse gas emission technology and will serve as a catalyst to further the adoption of zero-emission equipment in the off-road sector.
Public Workshop on 2022 Scoping Plan Update: On August 17 via webinar, CARB staff will host a public workshop that will enable stakeholders to provide input on key questions related to future energy and technology options that will help define paths in achieving carbon neutrality. CARB staff will also present a primer on the Energy and Environmental Economics, Inc. PATHWAYS model. This workshop is part of a series of workshops CARB is hosting in support of the 2022 Scoping Plan Update and is meant to assess progress towards achieving the 2030 target in Senate Bill 32 (Pavely, 2006) and lay out a path to achieve carbon neutrality no later than 2045 (Senate Bill 100, De León, 2018).
Training Webinar on In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation: On August 19 via remote access, CARB will host a training webinar on the In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation (Off-Road Regulation). This course will provide detailed information to fleet owners on the Off-Road Regulation and the importance of compliance. The goal of the Off-Road Regulation is to reduce NOx emissions and requires fleet owners to label their off-road vehicles and reduce emissions from their older equipment. This course will cover the applicability of the Off-Road Regulation, current requirements, future compliance deadlines, and an overview of the Diesel Off-Road Online Reporting System.
