All Waste Systems, Inc. Case Settles for $6,750
All Waste Systems, Inc. provides waste and recycling services in Sacramento and Placer Counties, California. In December 2011, All Waste Systems, Inc. agreed to pay $6,750.00 in penalties; $5,062.50 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $1,687.50 to the Peralta Community College District for violating air quality regulations.
An investigation by the ARB showed that All Waste Systems, Inc. failed to comply with the solid waste collection vehicle rule by neglecting to install legally required emission-reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. All Waste Systems, Inc. also failed to properly self-inspect their diesel vehicles to assure that vehicles met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Program (SWCV). To settle the case All Waste Systems, Inc. agreed to the $6,750.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and SWCV programs in addition to other ARB programs.
