heat pumps

I have seriously considered retrofitting a heat pump to our high efficiency gas furnace but have been unable to estimate how much my electric bill will increase and my gas bill decline. I've contacted SCP, PGE, and the heat pump supplier. SCP and PGE point to estimating tools which are very simplistic and worthless. Searched the web (and even NREL) for something adequate and found nothing. Please instruct the CCA's and IOU's to produce such a tool. Using our prior gas and elec usage data and potential heat pump performance data a useful tool must be possible. Meanwhile I have a quote for $12,000 to add a heatpump. We don't have or need AC. Want it just for heating, and to do our part for climate control.
