Bimbo Bakeries, U.S.A., Inc. Case Settles for $24,225
In June 2014, Bimbo Bakeries, U.S.A. Inc. (Bimbo) agreed to pay $24,225.00 for violating air quality regulations: $18,169.00 goes to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $6,056.00 goes to Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Bimbo failed to comply with the Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation (T&B) and the Emission Control Label (ECL) Program. ARB documented violations as they related to T&B and the ECL Program. To settle the case, Bimbo agreed to the $24,225.00 penalty and to comply with T&B, the ECL Program, and other ARB programs.
