Metropolitan Planning Organization for Santa Barbara County
Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG), the federally-designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Santa Barbara County, is located along California’s Central Coast. SBCAG adopted its fourth Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS) in 2025.
Connected 2050, SBCAG’s 2025 RTP/SCS, carries over many of land use and transportation strategies adopted in their previous 2021 SCS. The plan’s strategies are supporting jobs-housing balance and infill development around transit, new transit capital projects and bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, teleworking, and agricultural worker vanpools.
