Community Air Protection Program

In response to Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C. Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017), CARB established the Community Air Protection Program (CAPP or Program). The Program’s focus is to reduce exposure in communities most impacted by air pollution. Communities around the State are working together to develop and implement new strategies to measure air pollution and reduce health impacts.

Public meeting on Ambient Air Monitoring for Methyl Bromide in West Long Beach

The California Air Resources Board, the Department of Pesticide Regulation, the Los Angeles County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and Coalition For A Safe Environment will host a discussion of methyl bromide ambient air monitoring in West Long Beach on January 30th, 2025. The meeting will be held at The Salvation Army Long Beach Red Shield Chapel (3000 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90807) and online via Zoom from 6 pm to 8 pm. Visit this page to find out more.

Community Air Protection Program Blueprint 2.0

EXTENDED! Apply by January 24, 2025, to Serve on the AB 617 Consultation Group

CARB is seeking applicants to serve on the Community Air Protection (Assembly Bill (AB) 617) Consultation Group (Consultation Group). The purpose of the Consultation Group is to advise CARB on the development and implementation of the statewide strategy Blueprint 2.0, for the Community Air Protection Program (Program).

Applications must be submitted through the application link no later than 11:59 p.m., Pacific Standard Time (PST), Friday, January 24, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to review the Consultation Group Draft Charter.
