Tulare Joint Union High School District Case Settles for $13,500
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Tulare Joint Union High School District (TJUHSD) failed to meet the compliance requirements for a portion of its school bus fleet by the deadlines set forth in the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to the TB Regulation. To settle the case, TJUHSD will complete, at its own expense, a mitigation plan as outlined in the settlement agreement to mitigate emissions from these violations. If TJUHSD is unable to comply with the terms set forth in the settlement agreement, TJUHSD will pay $13,500 in penalties for violating air quality regulations. The school bus fleet is now currently compliant with the TB Regulation. TJUHSD agreed to complete the mitigation plan and to comply with the TB Regulation and other ARB programs. This settlement was reached in July 2017.
