Asbestos NESHAP Program
California Health and Safety Code section 39658(b)(1) establishes the Asbestos National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) as an airborne toxic control measure. The Asbestos NESHAP protects the public and environment by minimizing the release of asbestos fibers during renovation and demolition activities.
