Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas Inc. Settles For $5,000
In October 2024, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas, Inc. (MLA), with its principal location in Houston, Texas, for the company’s violation of the Off-Road Large Spark Ignition Engines Regulation (LSI Regulation), as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2430-2439 et seq.
In February 2024, MLA self-disclosed the sale and shipment into California of one forklift powered by an engine that failed to comply with the requirements of the LSI Regulation. All LSI engines sold in California must obtain an Executive Order pursuant to the certification requirements and protocols (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 13, § 2430(a)(2)) and meet the exhaust emissions standards (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 13, § 2433).
To settle the case, MLA agreed to the total penalty of $5,000. The total penalty amount will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. MLA fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter, and has agreed to not sell, offer for sale, or advertise in California, any LSI engines that do not meet certification requirements.
