Kareway Product Inc. Case Settles for $33,000
On March 5, 2017, a Consumer Products case, CP16-09-05, was settled with Kareway Product Inc. for selling, supplying or offering for sale a non‑compliant nail polish remover product between December 2013 and June 2016. This product, Epielle Non-Acetone Nail Polish Remover, exceeded the 1% volatile organic compounds (VOC) limit for the “Nail Polish Remover” category and resulted in 1.83 tons of excess VOC emissions. In addition, KarewayProduct Inc. used a nonstandard date code and did not have an explanation of the code filed with the Executive Officer of ARB as specified in title 17, CCR, section 94512(c)(1). Kareway Product Inc. has agreed to pay $33,000.00 to settle this case.
