Giumarra Vineyards Case Settles for $4,000
Giumarra Vineyards will pay $4,000 in penalties, for violating air quality regulations: $4,000 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; This settlement was reached in September 2017.
An investigation by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) showed that Giumarra Vineyards failed to perform annual vehicle smoke opacity testing on a portion of applicable trucks in their diesel fleet. CARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2180-2194 (13 CCR § 2180-2194). To settle the case, Giumarra Vineyards agreed to the $4,000 penalty and to comply with PSIP and other CARB programs.
