Freight Exchange of North America Case Settles for $10,200
Freight Exchange of North Americawill pay $10,200 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $5,100 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $5,100 will go to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District’s School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was reached in March 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Freight Exchange of North Americaon numerous occasionsfailed to verify the compliance status of fleets they hired and dispatched to California. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation (13 CCR § 2025). To settle the case, Freight Exchange of North America agreed to the $10,200 penalty and to comply with TB and other ARB programs
