Submitted Comment Name David and Susan Link Affiliation EV owner since 2012 Subject FCEVs are a wasteful, expensive, inefficient, and polluting non-alternative to BEVs. Message The vast majority of H2 production is not green at all. It is reformed from methane, which produces significant waste. H2 production uses as much electricity as would move a similar EV three times the distance. Refueling with H2 costs $16 to $25 per gas gallon equivalent. H2 stations are often out of order, short on H2 gas, and not located in areas reasonable for vehicle travel. They are also refilled via polluting diesel tanker trucks, which balance the load in their tanks with the station storage cylinders, with the tanker trucks leaving still half full. H2 can NOT be transported via pipeline, because it is too small a molecule, unable to be pushed more than a couple miles without additional forces. It also finds its way through hairline cracks in pipelines (unlike methane) threatening massive explosions and fires. Private homes can NEVER have H2 compressors in garages, like we had with our FuelMaker Phill compressor for our 1998 Honda Civic GX (dedicated CNG). Home reformers would cause excessive pollution and would need to be investigated several times daily, which will NEVER happen for a consumer, or even corporate entity, other than proper scientific research labs (which are disappearing due to the orange dictator’s anti-science and anti-education, anti-law, and anti-truth actions. FCEVs and H2 production have been promoted widely since the 1960s, yet have only barely I,proved to the necessary level of efficiency and safety. File Upload (i.e., Attachments): N/A N/A
