Synergy Labs, LLC Case Settles for $14,000

Synergy Labs, LLC (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) manufactured for sale in California a non-compliant Spot Remover. Enforcement staff purchased a sample of Sophresh Stain & Odor Remover that contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the 3 percent limit for the Spot Remover: Non-aerosol category specified in title 17 California Code of Regulations section 94509(a). The violation resulted in 0.73 tons of excess VOC emissions, based upon the formulation and the sales information provided by Synergy Labs. Synergy Labs ceased manufacture of the product.
