California Air Resources Board (CARB) staff invites you to participate in a public workshop to discuss concepts for potential updates to various California fuels regulations and programs. Potential items include updates to existing gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuels regulations. We will also discuss initial concepts for a Low Emission Diesel (LED) Standard. In the most recent California State Implementation Plan (SIP), CARB committed to developing a low emission standard for diesel fuel. This standard would increase the use of LED fuels in California, resulting in reduced oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) emissions relative to the use of conventional diesel. The increased use of LED fuels would also diversify the fuel pool and contribute towards California’s long-term transition away from fossil fuels.
