Rupes USA, Inc. Settles For $13,800
In September 2026, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Rupes USA, Inc. (Rupes), with its principal location in Louisville, Colorado, for the company’s violation of the Regulation for Reducing Emissions from Consumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation), as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 17, sections 94507 et seq.
A routine CARB staff investigation revealed that Rupes failed to adhere to the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) limits for non aerosol General Purpose Cleaners, non aerosol Multi-purpose Solvents, and Date Coding requirements as set forth in the Consumer Products Regulation. To settle the case, Rupes agreed to the penalty of $13,800 for the violation. The amount will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
Terms of the settlement include a requirement for Rupes to comply with all other CARB regulations going forward. Rupes worked cooperatively with CARB staff to quickly resolve this matter and implemented additional measures to reduce the potential of any future violations.
