EO G-22-479 (Invalidated 07-17-23)
| December 19, 2022 | ShoreKat | Update: Effective July 17, 2023, CARB invalidated Executive Order (EO) G-22-479 regarding the ShoreKat System. Since the issuance of EO G-22-479 to Clean Air Engineering Maritime (CAEM), ownership of the system has been transferred from CAEM to Pasha Stevedoring and Terminals (Pasha). EO G-22-479 is considered invalid since the ShoreKat underwent system modifications by Pasha and has been taken out of service. To acquire an active EO after modifications are complete, the ShoreKat must get approved as a CARB Approved Emission Control Strategy (CAECS), as specified in Section 93130.5(d)(3) of the “Control Measure for Ocean-Going Vessels At Berth” (the “CM;” title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 93130) (2020 At Berth Regulation). |

EO AB-15-02 (revoked 03-26-21) | October 17, 2015 | Advanced Marine Emissions Control System | Update: Effective March 26, 2021, CARB revoked Executive Order AB-15-02, regarding the Advanced Marine Emissions Control System (AMECS) technology. Advanced Environmental Group ((AEG), formerly known as Advanced Cleanup Technologies Inc. (ACTI)) may not operate the AMECS system for any purposes relating to the At Berth Regulation. The AMECS system was previously subject to a cease-and-desist order from CARB dated November 5, 2020. CARB’s revocation of this Executive Order continues to mean the AMECS system may not be used by any person (including a regulated entity) for compliance with the At Berth Regulation. CARB understands that AEG plans to seek approval of the AMECS system as a CARB-Approved Emission Control Strategy. CARB staff will work with AEG in this regard, under the process set forth in the At Berth Regulation.
