What are the possible incentive amounts?
CARB does not set minimums or maximums for CMIS grants.
What does it fund?
CMIS funds a variety of clean transportation and supporting projects in and around school communities. Grants provide funding for zero-emission vehicles, charging infrastructure, active and alternative modes of transportation, fleet and energy transition plans, education, curriculum, workforce training, and more. Funded projects are designed and implemented with school officials, students, teachers, and community members to address school-related transportation needs with solutions to reduce air pollution, GHG emissions, and vehicle miles traveled.
Who is eligible for funds?
California public school districts and county offices of education that operate at least one school serving students within the K-12 grade level. In addition, at least one school site must be located within a disadvantaged community boundary.

How does this program provide benefits to priority populations?
All projects are in or serve priority populations.
How do I access funds?
Eligible entities may apply through a competitive Request for Applications. The most recent solicitation is closed.
