Comments on May 2023 Workshop on Zero-Emission Appliance Standards

Dear Board Members and Staff,
Thank you for the opportunity to provide these comments on the California Air Resources Board’s
Zero-Emission Standards for Appliances, submitted on behalf of Building Decarbonization Coalition,
Earthjustice, Natural Resources Defense Council, RMI, Sierra Club California, and SPUR.

We appreciate CARB’s commitment to develop zero-emission appliance standards as part of a broad portfolio of strategies to advance an equitable transition to non-polluting appliances, and we look forward to supporting CARB and other agencies in the statewide pursuit of an equitable transition to zero-emission appliances by 2030.
