Coghlan's LTD. Settles For $8,000

In September 2019, the California Air Resources Board settled a case with Coghlan’s Ltd. of Winnipeg, Canada.  The manufacturer sold a charcoal lighter material in California that did not meet regulatory standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations section 94509(h).  Coghlan’s Ltd. paid $8,000 in penalties for selling uncertified charcoal lighter materials in California.  Coghlan’s Ltd. ceased all sales of the uncertified product and will no longer sell the product as a charcoal lighter material.
