Argonaut Constructors Case Settles for $9,000
Argonaut Constructors will pay $9,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $4,500 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. $4,500 will go to Placer County Air Pollution Control District, to administer an Installation of Air Filtration Systems in Schools Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP). This settlement was reached in December 2017.
An investigation by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) showed that Argonaut Constructors failed to bring their entire heavy duty diesel truck fleet into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. CARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus Regulation (TB ) as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2025 (13 CCR § 2025). To settle the case, Argonaut Constructors agreed to the $9,000 penalty and to comply with TB and other CARB programs.
