Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. Case Settles for $100,001
Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. will pay $100,001.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $75,001.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $25,000.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in December, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. failed to obtain approval from ARB to install a temporary replacement center body in order to investigate a warranty claim. ARB documented violations as they related to the Verification Procedure Regulation. To settle the case, Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. agreed to the $100,001.00 penalty and to comply with Verification Procedure Regulation.
