Chavo Transport Case Settles for $20,000
Chavo Transport will pay $20,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $20,000.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in March, 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Chavo Transport failed to bring four of their heavy duty diesel trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect six of their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation and the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Chavo Transport agreed to the $20,000.00 penalty and to comply with TB and PSIP and other ARB programs.
