BEKS Acquisition, Inc. DBA BC2 Environmental Case Settles for $13,500
BEKS Acquisition, Inc. DBA BC2 Environmental will pay $13,500 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $13,500.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in November 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that BEKS Acquisition, Inc. DBA BC2 Environmental failed to: (1) properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards, (2) bring 3 of their diesel trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards, and (3) report all required information for 11 trucks in the fleet for which they have elected to utilize the low-use vehicle provision. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, BEKS Acquisition, Inc. DBA BC2 Environmental agreed to the $13,500.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB and other ARB programs.
