California Air Resources Board

Requires, beginning July 1, 2028, battery suppliers and remanufacturers to equip new vehicle traction batteries or remanufactured batteries sold in the State with a permanent label or replacement label, respectively, containing specified information, as provided. The bill requires CARB to adopt regulations no later than July 1, 2031, to implement and enforce this bill as well as create a tiered fee schedule to collect fees from the battery suppliers to cover implementation costs.
