Case-Mate, Inc. Settles For $25,000
In June 2026, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Case-Mate, Inc. (Case-Mate), with its principal location in Atlanta, Georgia, for the violation of the Regulation for Limiting Ozone Emissions From Indoor Air Cleaning Devices (Indoor ACD Regulation), as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94800 et seq.
CARB staff conducted an investigation that revealed Case-Mate sold, supplied, offered for sale, or introduced into commerce in the State of California indoor air cleaning devices that did not have the required CARB certification (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 17, § 94804). In addition to the company’s violation for sale of uncertified air cleaning devices, Case-Mate’s website was found to be missing the mandatory advisory required for sale of uncertified devices. (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 17, § 94806(e).)
To settle the case, Case-Mate agreed to the penalty of $25,000 for the violations. Case-Mate cooperated fully with CARB to resolve this matter. To come into compliance, Case-Mate is no longer offering the uncertified indoor air cleaning devices for sale in California.
