ARBER is the ARB Equipment Registration software for the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) ATCM and the Drayage Truck Regulation. The ARBER system was designed to provide owners of TRU or TRU generator sets (gensets) with a method of registering their equipment online to determine compliance with the TRU ATCM. ARBER will automatically issue an ARB identification number (IDN) for fully compliant TRU/TRU gensets. Initial registration in ARBER will allow you to create a company profile, establish users and user accounts for your company, and receive an Owner Operator Number (OON). The information below is provided to help registrants complete the TRU Compliance Information page in ARBER.TRU Engine Information
TRU Engine Manufacturer | Required field. Click on the drop-down box and select the engine manufacturer that appears on the engine label. If the engine manufacturer is not included on the drop-down list, please call the TRU Help Line (see above). | If the engine has no label, consult your TRU owner manual or TRU dealership. See Carrier Unit & Engine Label for ARBER. See Thermo King Unit and Engine Label for ARBER. |
TRU Engine Model | Required field. Enter the engine model that appears on the engine label. | If the engine has no label, consult your TRU owner manual or TRU dealership. See Carrier Unit & Engine Label for ARBER. See Thermo King Unit and Engine Label for ARBER. |
TRU Engine Model Year | Required field. Enter the engine model year that appears on the engine label. For original engines, see links to the right. For replacement or rebuilt engines, use the effective model year based on emissions tier. Note: Replacing the engine is NOT an compliance option for existing 2008 and newer engines. See Advisory 13-18 . | See Carrier Unit & Engine Label for ARBER. See Thermo King Unit and Engine Label for ARBER. If the engine has no label, consult your TRU owner manual or TRU dealership. |
TRU Engine Serial Number |
Required field.
Engine serial numbers may be
found: |
See Carrier Unit & Engine Label for ARBER. See Thermo King Unit and Engine Label for ARBER. If the engine has no label, consult your TRU owner manual or TRU dealership. |
TRU Engine Power Rating | The power rating that is shown on the TRU engine emissions label. Click on the drop-down menu and select either "under 25 hp (under 19 kW)" or "over 25 hp (over 19 kW)". | See Carrier Unit & Engine Label for ARBER. See Thermo King Unit and Engine Label for ARBER. |
Compliance Status | ||
Original TRU Engine | ARBER defaults to this option.
Replacement Engine, New | Click this button if the original engine was replaced with a new replacement engine. Note: Replacing the engine is NOT an compliance option for existing 2008 and newer engines. See Advisory 13-18 .
Replacement Engine Tier | Required of all new
replacement engines. Click on the drop-down box
and select the appropriate tier. New
replacement engines must have a label that describes the emission
standards that the engine was manufactured to. Note:
Replacing the engine is NOT an compliance option for existing
2008 and newer engines.

Installation Date of Replacement Engine | Required field if replacement engine is selected. Provide the date that the replacement engine was installed.
Verified Diesel Emissions Control Strategy (VDECS)
Verified Diesel Emissions Control Strategy (VDECS) | Click this button if the engine was retrofit with a VDECS. The TRU website lists VDECS that meet Level 2 and Level 3 for the TRU application at http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/tru/tru.htm. | VDECS listed on TRU website: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/tru/tru.htm |
VDECS Manufacturer Name | Required if VDECS is clicked. Using the drop-down menu choose the name of the manufacturer of the VDECS you have installed on your engine that appears on the VDECS label. | Options: HUSS, Proventia, Rypos, Carrier EES, New World Engineering, LLC, |
VDECS Family Name | Required if
VDECS is clicked. Using the
drop-down menu choose the family name that appears on
the VDECS label. Family names coincide with
manufacturer
names, therefore if
you select a family name that does not match with the manufacturer you
will
receive an error message. Proventia: CA/PEC/2008/PM2+/N00/OF/FTF01 (Level 2) Rypos: CA/RYP/2009/PM2+/N00/OF/DPF01 (Level 2) CA/RYP/2011/PM3+/N00/TR/DPF01 (Level 3) HUSS Umweltechnik FS-MK: CA/HUS/2010/PM3+/N00/OF/DPF01 (Level 3) CA/HUS/2011/PM3+/N00/OF/DPF01 (Level 3) Carrier EES: CA/CAR/2013/PM3+/N00/TR/DPF01 (Level 3) New World Engineering, LLC: CA/NWE/2019/PM3+/N00/TR/DPF01 (Level 3) |
|
VDECS Serial Number | Required
if VDECS is clicked. Type in the
VDECS serial number that appears on the VDECS label. Listed below are known serial number formats where A/N represents alpha-numeric; N for numeric; M for month of manufacture; Y for year of manufacture; and P, T, and U are stationary letters. Proventia:
MMYYA/NPNNNNN (Level 2)
Rypos: TNNNN (Level 2) UNNNN (Level 3) Huss: TRU-NNNN (Level 3) Carrier EES: NNNNNN (Level 3) New World Engineering, LLC: MMYYEADPFNNNNN (Level 3) |
