ITEM
Status of the Proposed Air Pollution Emergency Contingency Plan.
DISCUSSION
At the September 12, 1972, public hearing on a proposed Air
Pollution Emergency Contingency Plan, the Board directed the
Staff to report on the following items: (See Board Book)
ITEM
EPA Proposed Revision to the State Implementation Plan.
RECOMMENDATION
Evaluate EPA's proposed rules and regulations, determine if and
where further action is needed, and determine if the State should
adopt additional rules and regulations prior to adoption by EPA.
ITEM
Proposed regulations for administration of the subvention
program.
RECOMMENDATION
Schedule a hearing to consider the adoption of proposed
regulations as emergency regulations on October 25, 1972, in
Sacramento.
ITEM
Request from local districts for establishing a Mountain Counties
Air Basin.
ISSUE
Should the Air Resources Board designate an Air Basin which
includes the Mountain Counties.
CONCLUSION
This is an informational report.
ITEM
Variance issued to Ideal Basic Industries to allow operation of
its existing cement plant during construction of a new plant in
San Juan Bautista, San Benito County.
CONCLUSION
The progress of the company in construction of new plant appears
satisfactory. The issue remaining is: "Should Ideal Basic
Industries be allowed to operate its old plant while its new
plant is being constructed."
ITEM
Emissions from the Caffey-Rice Sawmill, Nevada City, Nevada
County.
ISSUE
Should the Board take further action to control emissions from
this source?
CONCLUSION
No further action by the Board is recommended.
