01-1-1 | Public Hearing to Consider Amendments to the California Zero
Emission Vehicle Regulations In September 2000, the Board considered the status of the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) program. After hearing extensive testimony and public comment, the Board affirmed that the ZEV program is an essential component of the State's long-term air quality strategy, and resolved that the basic ZEV requirements be retained and implemented in California. The Board also directed staff to develop and propose regulatory modifications and other steps that address the challenges associated with the successful long-term implementation of the ZEV program, and that result in a sustainable market for ZEVs. In response to the Board's directive the staff has developed proposed regulatory changes. These are the changes which will be considered by the Board. |
01-1-2 | Public Meeting to Consider Recommendations for Funding Proposals Received
and for Augmenting Funding for Existing Projects Under the Innovative Clean Air Technologies (ICAT) Program - Link Expired One million dollars is available each year to the Board's ICAT program to foster the development of innovative pollution control and prevention technology. In response to our solicitation this year, ARB staff received pre-proposals from 77 applicants. Several of those proponents were invited to submit full proposals, of which ten were evaluated by staff and outside reviewers for their potential to reduce air pollution, to be rapidly commercialized, and to benefit the California economy. ARB staff recommends that four of those proposals be funded for a total of $729,461. In addition, staff recommends that two existing ICAT projects receive funding augmentation of approximately $86,000 to allow the addition of important tasks conceived after the projects were initially proposed and approved. |
